The Nothings formed in 1965 in Hythe, Kent with a line-up of Jason Knight on lead vocals (b. Derek Knight, Monday, March 20, 1944, Hertfordshire, England d. Thursday, January 27, 2005, Folkestone, Kent, England), Trevor Williams on lead guitar, vocals (b. 1945), Dave Hammond on rhythm guitar, vocals (b. David Hammond), Martin Vinson on bass (b. 1947), Dave Lewis on vocals, organ (b. David Bolitho) and Ewart Pinch on drums.
The Nothings grew out of The Avengers (from 1961) and The Dukes of Earl (1964 - 1965) with Terry Hughes on lead vocals (b. Terence Hughes) and not Knight. Knight had been lead vocalist in The Lonely Ones (1963). On Friday, July 2, 1965
The Nothings released their only single 'At Times Like This' (Jason Knight) and 'Love So Sweet' (George, Hammond) on CBS 201779. It was produced by James-Berger.
In 1965 Lewis left and was replaced by organist Phil Kirk. Knight was later lead vocalist and front-man in The Loving Kind (Jan - Sept 1966).
Vinson in 1967 joined The Lonely Ones who in July 1967 became The Joint.
