You could well call us the second generation of a very well known band from Ashford Kent in late 61 to mid 63 Pat and the Cheetahs. Or the band that got lost when Noel Redding and Pat Cale (Neil Langdon) Formed the Burnetts. In 63 we were known as the Wanderers but due to complications we found ourselves requiring a change of Lead Guitarist in mid 1963 and with the help of Pat and Noel who put us in touch with a lad from Hythe Pete Ridley who joined us on lead guitar but we were unable to carry on with the name of the Wanderer and as we had Mick Startup with us who was one of the original Pat and the Cheetahs and the blessing of Pat himself we were able to take the name of the Cheetahs and this we did. Due to our transport was owned by the Wanderers Lead Guitarist we also found that we needed transport and once again Noel Redding came to our aid with the selling us there old van. So with the change of the drummer to Brian Timpson we were up and running. The band had a very successful run through to the end of 1965 which included an 18 months residency at Dreamland ballrooms rendezvous club on Wednesday nights along the way Head lining may events throughout Kent Sussex and the London area but unfortunately the age came caught us out and work comments took over and the band fizzled out towards to the end of 1965.
