Wigg from Canterbury was an apprentice carpenter and joiner, who used to be guitarist in a group, but when it broke up, he decided to go on his own. He got in touch with a local agent who introduced him to Rogers. They tried out a song or two and decided to remain together as The Dijons. They chose their name by putting together the first part of Diane's name and Wigg's Christian name.

Rogers from Sittingbourne, Kent, a charted accountant was working in London. She at first had been singing with a Sittingbourne group, but after a short while she thought she might be better alone.

Woodcock from Canterbury had played at several clubs in Kent and for a while at a club in Brighton, East Sussex. He became a member of the group when after a meeting with Wigg's mother.

The type of music The Dijons sang and played, varied from ballads to beat numbers and folk music, but they are prepared to sing anything, provided it is suitable for just two voices.

There was an article on the band in The Kent Herald of Wednesday, January 13, 1965. It talked about the fact that Christine Adams had had an interview with on the evening of Friday, January 8, 1965 with John Wigg. It also talked about the fact that although at the moment they had no plans for a professional future if the Dijons continue to increase their popularity at their present rate, they could become extremely successful semi-professionals.
