Zobe from 1968 included Brian Hopper on alto sax, flute (b. Brian L. Hooper, Sunday, January 3, 1943, Herne Bay, Kent, England).

This group had a number of line-ups with John Lawrence on lead guitar, backing vocals (b. 1948), Dave Lawrence on lead vocals, bass (b. David Lawrence), Dave Smith on drums (b. David Smith), John Larner on lead guitar, backing vocals (b. 1947), Frank Larner on organ, Gordon Larner on trombone, Ron Huie on drums (b. Ronald Huie) and Bob Gilleson on drums (b. Robert Gilleson).

 Lawrence lived in Friars Close, Tankerton, Whitstable. He was well known as lead guitarist for the Whitstable, east Kent band The Rocking Sparticans. He was then in Jazz-Blues band The Sect formed in November 1964 in Whitstable, East Kent. He later joined Penny Whistle and Life 'n' Soul - both groups touring UK wiely.

Zobe recorded three songs, 'Why Do You Care (Brian Hopper),' 'The Pieman Cometh' (Brian Hopper) and 'Summer Spirit' (Brian Hopper) with Dave Lawrence on lead vocals, bass, John Larner on lead guitar, backing vocals, Brian Hopper on alto sax, flute and Bob Gilleson on drums. Hopper stayed in Zobe until 1971, but was also in Beggers Farm (1969 - May 1970).
