It was also known as The Grand Hotel Ballroom and The Grand.
The Grand Hotel over looked Lousia Bay and had been built in 1882 by James William Hobbs at the coast of £78,000 and had 100 bedrooms.
The Detours who later became famous as The Who played here in 1962 and 1963.
